        • But all those "collector car" insurance companies don't let you drive it to work or the store. I had looked at them and it was supposed to be only to shows or "pleasure driving" whatever that is considered. I love driving mine to work and taking it out to eat and whatever else I want to do with it.

Duh.....that's why when you drive it to and from work and get in an accident you tell them you were taking it in to be serviced or you were on your way home from a show.....

                    • Sooooooo ...... How can you tell you are dealing with an original owner classic car???

When you pop out the passenger side rear seat and JOKINGLY say "found the build sheet" and get little response from the owner. Then you pop out the drivers side rear seat and REALLY DO FIND THE BUILD SHEET and all you get is a "hey cool". The rest of us would be jumping up and down with excitement . Al and I spent the next 15 minutes going over the sheet. But the original owner that never plans to sell, knows how, when, where and what the car came with 33 years ago.

We had a very productive day on DZ74. We got the VERY stubborn rear spring bushings installed. Stripped the window hardware to get ready for the power window setup and completely stripped the interior in preparation for the new dash and sound insulation.

                      • New dash? I thought you sold the other dash pad and the original looked pretty good to me. What all are you going to do to it?

                          • The original dash is badly warped and is a non-air dash. The one we sold was an NOS still new in the box non-air dash that Doug had bought back in the 80's. The car will now have AC so we got Eckler's Camaro to contribute a new AC dash to the project.

                            • AH...didn't know the car didn't have AC. Too bad they don't put build sheets in 4th gens other than in the glovebox from the factory. The dealer threw all the paperwork away that wasn't the owners manual. The damn sales guy ripped off the airbag warning tag when I got in the car to pick it up. I was pissed but he folded it up before I could even react. Oh well.

                              • First, I want to thank everyone that helped yesterday. It was a very productive day, and we were even able to leave the garage door open most of the day.

I thought finding the build sheet was real cool. I'm sure I've seen it there before, since I had the rear seats out years ago to install a stereo. I guess I thought keeping it there was the best place to store it!

I've scanned the build sheet, and the inspection sheet that was with it and posted the pics on NastyZ28.com (2nd Gen Camaro site)
RIP Doug,You will always be remembered
