Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Yeah I just put brand new plugs in it and the car started for half a second, Phil live like 2 miles away and he doesn't seem to want to come by and flash the pcm because it has the old H/C tune on it. The thing that bugs me is it ran a week or two ago just fine and now nothing?
Ok Jeff, you have lots of experience, raise your right arm, take your left hand and grab hold of youself! LOL. Remember KISS! Keep it simple stupid.
Are the grounds on same head as oil leak was? could have seeped in and now have high resistant grd. Isn't the position sensor on that side also. Maybe clean connector. do the simple things first and I am sure you'll find problem.

Ok well my tuner suggested last night that I try and start the car with the throttle wide open because it shuts the injectors off and lets the motor unflood itself. I tried it just now and the car fired right up and ran great. My question is what exactly does that mean? I definatly don't wanna run the car if its too rich because I don't wanna wash the piston rings and ruin the motor. Any ideas?
Sounds like if the injectors are being shut off starting it at WOT to allow the car to unflood then it sounds like the engine was just flooded from all the attempted starts?
yeah thats what I figured I just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to hurt my motor in any way, but then again the car has been tuned for these injectors and other than the shortblock being a few cubes bigger the cam is the only other change.

Why doesn't he want to come over and flash it? Because he thinks the current tune is close enough to getting it running, or he doesn't physically want to come over? You have HPTuners, right? He could just send you an updated file.
Well I guess Phil didn't know the car was open headers, the fresh air is throwing off my O2 sensors and causing the car to run lean. He won't even try to tune it without exhaust so now I need to find a trailer to get the car down to Stenod. Anyone have a hook up on one I could borrow or pay to have someone take it down there?
Yep and I wish I had thought about that beforehand because I'm terrified that I may have washed my piston rings because this is how I have been running it The weird thing is the first few startups the car ran great and every other time after that, getting it started was the actual problem.
yep, raj's car started and ran perfect at first. after about starts and idle it started killin the plugs.
the added CI means more CFM going through the MAF. The maf in turn thinks your at say 4000rpm and dumps fuel
those who say you are OK to run a car untuned with bigger injectors or heads/cam and such are very wrong
I completely understand not wanting to run untuned with bigger injectors or H/C but the car already has the old H/C tune on it and that was also tuned for these injectors. Anyhow I have been discussing it with Phil and he says unless I swapped the injectors my car is probably just fine as far as the rings but it will definatly need to be retuned, which is expected and I should refrain from running it until that is done. Still need a lift over to Stenod though, I'd probably get stiffed big time having AAA or someone similar do it how much is it to rent a u-haul car trailer for a few hours?
