Well I have everything hooked up aside from the positive battery cable, in a few I'm gonna go lift the car back up and clean off all the fluids from underneath really well and then fire the car up and let it run for a while and see what happens. Wish me luck.Doing less with more

Good luck, Jeff! I envy your ability to work during the day on the car.

Well I got everything ready for the car to fire and then my boss called and asked me to work late on a job so I had to wait. Then just now I finished and went to go out and start it and the battery was dead, which wouldn't have been a big deal if my dad didn't take the charger home
so I guess it'll have to wait til tomorrow morning.

Oh that sucks. I guess I'll be one of the first ones to hear it tomorrow morning. Me and Mike Ridings and going out to tune my car at 9, so when I'm done there I'm coming straight up to your shop Jeff to coat the headers.sigpic

You should always do the neg terminal last, by having neg already on when you connect the + is what causes spikes and blows electronics.Originally posted by DETROITMUSCLE View PostWell I have everything hooked up aside from the positive battery cable, in a few I'm gonna go lift the car back up and clean off all the fluids from underneath really well and then fire the car up and let it run for a while and see what happens. I will remember that from now on Larry, not sure why my car is relatively clean underneath but I like it.Originally posted by Plum Nuts View PostYou should always do the neg terminal last, by having neg already on when you connect the + is what causes spikes and blows electronics.

Well I just got back inside from firing the car up and here how things went. The first time I tried to fire the car it would crank but not start, tried it a few more times and also checked the wiring and made sure everything was connected properly. After rechecking the coils I tried it again and the car started right up YAY! So we decided to drive it off the lift and take it outside of the shop and lket it run for a while.
As the car was running, and running great I might add, I took a video of it outside which I may post later. I repeatedly checked underneath the car for leaks and all my gauges looked great. After about 15-20 minutes I shut the car off and proceeded to walk back insidede. I took one last peek under the car and once again my heart sank. I now have what looks to be a coolant leak and oil leak coming from under the car. Once I let the car cool off we will push it back into the shop and onto the lift to assess the leaks but it looks like the coolant is coming from the water pump
and the oil looks again like the rear main seal
. I HATE CARS!!!!!
To top it all off the car would not start after I discovered the leaks so I'm guessing a ground wire somewhere is not connected and that is our problem with the car not starting the first time. Now I know why people pay shops to do work on there cars.Doing less with more

Damn man you just can't catch a break on this build! Really sorry to hear Jeff but keep a positive attitude - I remember my water pump leaked a little the first start up around the water neck where the thermostat goes and then magically it sealed itself without any gasket.- Brian Meissen
