Hope you put down some good numbers, I don't think your thinking is too wishful you should be able to hit 400rwhp.

Here are a couple of vids. Initial startup.

Most everything looks good. The only thing I question is the oil gage; it's pegged! When I shut her off it drops to approx. 70 and stays there. Don't know what could be causing that (?). Any ideas????

Yikes - what's with all the smoke coming out of the intake? Otherwise it sounds damn good.

Sounds to me like you broke the oil pressure sending unit, make sure it didn't break to where its leaking down the back of the motor and all over your floor. I have the special socket you'll need to remove and replace it that you can borrow just reach your hand back there and see what it feels like. I hope you have good oil pressure because it certainly wasn't reading properly.

Yea, definitely sounds like the opsu. I didnt know they made a special socket for that? Where'd you pick that one up at jeff?

Brian, the smoke is just the headers burning all the oil and crap off of them that made its home there during the rebuild.

I don't remember for sure but I believe I got it an a local place called Decker's they had the sensor and mentioned to me that I needed the special socket to replace it. Its a good thing too because I haven't found a deep well that big and if you don't have the socket you'd have to remove the intake manifold to get in tightened back down.

That's a lot of smoke for that... I didn't have that much when I started mine.

maybe oil coming out the sending unit and hitting the headers.

it could be a combination of both if the sending unit is in fact broken but I had about that much the first H/C swap I did. All the grease from your hands gets on the parts and has to burn off.

I just took a look and no oil on the floor; a little Dex-cool but no oil.

I believe the smoke was just burn off due to me being a slob; it went away shortly thereafter (but I will definitely revisit the possibility of a leak).

I don't recall doing anything that would have 'broke' the OSU, but during the manhandling process of the Intake I guess it could be a possibly. I'll start there.

Oh yeah, Jeff mentioned a 'special' tool for the OSU. Coincidently enough, a while back on LS1.com there was mention of that as well and I saved the info.

You may not have broken the OPSU, but maybe you did something to the one flimsy wire going to it.

That could definitely be a possibility.

Why couldn't the issue be related to something in the FRONT of the engine? (i.e. easily accessible) Humph.

I'm 99% positive you broke the opsu its fairly easy to do when the brake booster hose gets caught around it when removing the intake and I didn't even notice mine was broken when I did it, my dad did. It should be easy to get to just stand on a small step ladder on the driver side and lay across the engine and reach back there.
