New VC warranty replacement from BFG...definitely a step up from my BFG 8800GTX, 768MB.

    BFG NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ OC 1GB PCIe 2.0

BFG rocks when it comes to their 'lifetime warranty'.

Anyway...recent progress. Working on the heads in the basement and under the hood.

No cam yet, back order at CompCams.
Removed the oil pump & sprocket , gonna be a b-i-t-c-h to put back on.

Room necessary to remove the bolt holding the pickup tube.

    The bolt...psst, don't drop it!

    Gear Puller...again.

Heads are done. . .finally. Bowl blend, mild polishing, backcut the valves and polished the exhaust valves.

      Installed PSI, LS1511ML springs.

Simplistic compression tool is the cats azz

As I compressed the spring, I had to maintain center (valve is easily influenced)

Forgot to add the necessities to lap the valves.

        Once again, very simplistic:

Todays progress. SLP double roller timing chain and gears. SLP ported oil pump. ASP underdrive pulley. (Hey, I heard it was kind of nice outside today...?)

This gear is adjustable to + or - 8º. Per the advice of my tuner I set it at 0º.

              Rebuild 1.JPG

I hate having to do things twice. I reattached the oil pan and pinched the timing chain making it impossible to move upward into position. Had to drop the pan again.

              Rebuild 2.JPG

Oh yeah, additional note: that SLP oil pump sucks. Fitment is terrible. I had to carve (grind) the inside of the timing chain cover in numerous places in order to get it sit flat.

              Rebuild 3.JPG

              Rebuild 4.JPG

              Went in easily.

              Rebuild 5.JPG

              Zero marks.

One head is secured. Tomorrow is a new day...

                  Few more from today.

                  Build 20.JPG

I elevated the intake manifold screws and put rubber bands around them which holds them in place. This kept them from protruding out the bottom of the intake which would have had the tendency to hangup during installation.

                  Build 21.JPG

                  That's it for today.

I'm not certain, I'm "hoping" for somewhere around 410rwhp (?). Might just be 'wishful' thinking.

                                Will do!

I've only spoke to Steve briefly over the phone and only on one occasion. All of my other dealings with Vector has been with Kirk.
