Thanks! I think this will look better than a single gauge pod. I really wanted to get it powered up tonight, but it will happen soon.

When I did the motor mounts the engine was not in the cradle, that being said I don't think it will be that bad with header and exhaust not there. You need to support the engine. the only other part is helps to have drill press to drill out rivits but can be done with hand drill. You really need a vice to squeeze braket together. Only took me about 1 hr start to finish.

Do I have to pull out the oil dipstick tube during the header swap?

Yes, Its 1 bolt and it pulls right out. Its not a problem at all.

Takes about 1 min to put back in as long as you have 2 people also.

I believe is either .05 or .055 but they should be pre gapped when you buy them, just double check.

The initial plan for today was to just get the car in the air and get it ready to work on, but that changed. I decided to get started on the intake swap. I started around 6:30 and stopped at 10:30, during which I got half the !egr done, intake off, old knock sensors out, new knock sensors in, and the knock sensor harness in. The dreaded oil pressure sender is still intact as of now, so that's a plus.

I do have one question though - The new knock sensor harness I got from GM doesn't have the heat protection material around the wires like the old one has, they are just electrical taped up. Will that be OK?

Looks great man. Maybe I'll stop by with Jeff this weekend if he goes. We have done a few header swaps in our day

Cool, and extra set of hands and someone that knows what they are doing always helps.

Anyone have know if the knock sensor harness should be OK?

Well I got the intake swap finished, egr off, and air pump off. Still have to do the exhaust though. The car is on jack stands and I used PB Blaster on all the bolts.

Something came up, and the guy that was going to help me can't anymore. Anyone want to help me out with the exhaust? I could really use an extra set of hands and someone that know what they are doing. I can provide food and drinks, and its in a heated garage!

Id love to help, but I have my hands full with my own project. NKG's TR55's gapped to .060 according gm the ls series engines should have the plugs gapped at .060 from the 4.8 to the 6.0.
