Under the map sensor on the right(in that picture) is the vacuum feed for the HVAC controls, its already on the back of the ls1 intake, just pull it off and stick it on that one, its just a rubber hose thing, on the left is the brake booster, same thing here.

So I have decided that I am also going to do motor mounts while the manifolds are off. I heard that will make the job a lot easier, and if I ever decide to change them in the future I would have to take off the longtubes anyway.

Anything else I should do while the car is in the air and torn apart?

How high does the car need to be off the ground to do the manifold and motor mount swap efficiently? Will I be able to do it with just a jack and jack stands? Or should I start looking for a place that will let me use a lift for a while?

you can do it with a jack and stands but I've heard the motor mount swap is a real *****.

I can attest to the Motor monts being a PITA.

Man, I am really torn about doing the motor mounts. On one hand, it would be a very good time to do them and the car does have some miles on it, but on the other hand, I don't know if they are necessary and the time and money invested in them may not be worth it.

Does anyone know where I can find a write up on how to change them?

Well I decided that I might as well do motor mounts too. They came in Friday from CS3 (thanks again Creight), along with a set of 02 extensions.

The install will take place next weekend. I have read a ton of writeups for everything, hopefully I will be prepared. I think that I have everything that I need. I went and picked up an extra oil pressure sender just to make sure I will be OK if I break it during the intake swap.

I wish the weather this weekend would have been better because I wanted to start on the LC-1 wideband install, but I didn't get the car out because of the rain.

I did get a chance to knock off the ribs on the bottom of the intake because I am going to keep the LS1 coolant lines.

I have a winter beater and can have the garage spot for as long as I need incase problems come up. What I am shooting for is to get it up on jack stands Friday after work and PB Blaster everything a few times, then get to it early the next morning, and hopefully have it done Sunday night.

shouldn't be a problem to do it over a weekend IMO if you need a hand let me know I'm only down the street.

                          Cool, thanks!

Hopefully 2 guys from work will be able to lend a hand this weekend. We have to pull an engine from a VW autoX car as well.

Does anyone have a pic of how the motor mounts should be situated in the clamshell?

Don't thing we snapped any pics of the LT1 mounts in the clamshell unfortunately. My dad did it on mine, he might be able to provide some insight.

                              A little progress from tonight...

Got the LC-1 gauge wired up and installed in the center vent. The sensor and "brain" of the system still need to be wired, which will take place after the exhaust install.
