Guess it depends on the style of cage.. I have an 8 point and no plastic was cut at all.. Carpet, yes....

yes but the rear bars going towards the back bumper can either be welded in my the quarter or right over top the gas tank which i assume you have.

and nick only issue with that one is that it looks like where the cross bar is it sits real low. if you were to get in an accident this would compress your back with you momentum taking you forward and the point of resistance of the harnesses being so low. least thats what i got out of larry (1badair) lecture on these. and i dont think that guy makes those anymore IIRC

I seen that i wouldn't get one anyways unless Joel was to make them and sell them 6LE are just to costly id rather buy a cage and have my uncle (professional welder) put it in...i was just giving Joel an idea that people have designed one that uses the hole already in the panel...and if Joel was to try and recreate that he could redesign it to be higher up...maybe?

Yes, Mine are welded right behind the rear seat above the gas tank. That is why I said depending on style...

very possible. i was all for a cage in my car but a mild steel cage prebent and jigged was around $600 shipped to my door. then i had a buddy quote me his price at $100 a point to have it welded. then it would need paint/powdercoat. i cant weld or paint so im looking at easy $1,500 for something my car doesnt really need in all honesty. i wanted harnesses for autox cuz seat belts just dont keep my frame in place lol. so $300 to me was alot easier to swallow then $1500+. i wish i knew how to or had a family member who could weld that changes everything.

Yea i understand man...and i know what you mean about keeping me in the seat i really dont stay in my stock seats on the street let alone if i decide to go autox it...i need to get something with more bolster to it

was bored today, deceided to start cleaning up my hack job wiring mess, took the car around the block a few times, cornered hard. i like the harnesses already. o yea a little trick i thought id share it maybe cheap or ricey but skateboard grip tape on the pedals keep your feet in place

yeah in honesty the brake and gas pedal didnt really need it i just wanted to match, ive had problems going from pedal to pedal quickly and having my foot slip off the clutch cuz my pedals have some pretty good wear on them.

yeah definately. the old hard rubber gets slick pretty quickly with any type of water/moisture. Its prbly a good idea and a good mod seeing you are getting into road racing and it is an M6
