yaa off of motown. guy in farmington hills. its not a 9 but its a ford 8.8. ive done alot of research and these rear ends are very cheap to build and are very solid and realiable. a guy on tech built one for $600 and it holds 5k clutch dumps on mickey ts.
got the housing out of a 94 stang for $35 and a 31 spline carrier out of a 03 cobra for $100.
heres the thread http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/gears-...8-8-build.html

I've seen that build before, if you can weld and do your own fab work or get it done for dirt cheap thats the only way it would even be worth it. He even says in there that it was a lot of work. I hope it works out though, its a mini ladder bar and that is something relatively new to 4th gens. It also would suck having to swap out your wheels to a ford bolt pattern.Originally posted by MunsterZ28 View Postyaa off of motown. guy in farmington hills. its not a 9 but its a ford 8.8. ive done alot of research and these rear ends are very cheap to build and are very solid and realiable. a guy on tech built one for $600 and it holds 5k clutch dumps on mickey ts.

I would leave welding axle housings and brackets on to the professionals.Originally posted by DETROITMUSCLE View Postthats sweet I had no idea you knew how to weld, good luck and I hope it works out so you can make one for me when your done
I have welded everything on my chevelle, but if I were todo an axle I would tack them and have a buddy tig them the rest of the way.
You don't want to end up like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hq5rBa4S34I
D&E in Hazel Park should be able to get you clutch for a decent price(they also carry centerforce). Call them up and if the price is reasonable I can buy it because I get a discount there to save ya a few bucks.Originally posted by MunsterZ28 View Postlol ya ill keep everyone tuned in. i prob wont start this til the end of feb or march after i gather all the parts. f*** min wage and still needing a clutch
