I used POR 15 on two sets of headers so far and wasn't impressed at all. It has already started flaking off. I blame this on the half ass heat cycling you can do with them on the car. I think if they were baked properly after being coated they would hold up much better. I would either order some and try it or just use the high temp stuff from autozone just make sure you prep well.Doing less with more

I had best results with bbq high heat grill paint from lowes, but im sure if you bake the automotive high temp paint right it would work better. but the automotive high temp paint just flaked for me without baking, then the bbq paint held up well.
used the bbq paint on both my go kart exhaust and vintage minibike. I think its called krylon bbq paint.
ohh and I used the stuff on a moped exhaust....beat the hell out of that thing drove it in rain and snow.....no flaking
I lol every time they ID me to buy paint

If you are going to bake it I recommend duplicolor high heat 1200 degree paint.Originally posted by mcalus View PostHow high of temp does it need to be baked at? I have access to a paint booth.
needs to be baked at 300 degrees for 2 hours

If you can afford it get them coated. Its not about appearance its about under hood temps. Ceramic coating is going to help keep the under hood temps down so that giant iron boat anchor called the LT1 doesn't get hotter than its already going to be.
Us LSx guys run composite intakes so we don't have to worry about that as much.

dont port your intake. you wont gain any power, and could probably lose some if done incorectly. You have stock heads and a basically stock cam, spend your money elsewhere. Now if you have fully ported heads, then I'd say go with it, along with a 58mm or monoblade TBOriginally posted by MunsterZ28 View Postwho ports intakes? lol what shop would i take it too?
