I know, I'm still trying to search the interwebs to find where it's really getting that value from. I searched CamaroZ28 for standard operating temp of the transmission and I found one guy with a supercooler saying his stays around 150 so the fact that mine was reading 145 seems to make the trans temp reading more plausible... I just don't know where it's getting it from. There has to be something that it's getting the reading from.

          I did find this though:

              • Considering the Trans is electronic it is plausible for there to be an internal sensor to measure trans fluid temp.
The PCM probably turns on the aux. fans when the temp reaches a certain point.

Engine, transmission, PCM, and harness are all from the same 1995 Z28 car.

                    • Interesting find. Ill have to hook up my laptop and fire up PCM Scan when I get out of class and see if my car supports it.

                      • Yeah - it'd be interesting to see how the data is being provided from the PCM to the DataMaster scanner... it would seem to be a very easy tie in to get that reading on a trans gauge.

                        • It probably be cake if the gauges support the imput signal, but IDK crap about aftermarket gauges. According to the shbox website, the signal from the trans temp sensor is a 0 - 5v signal, you could probably spice this off if its supported by an aftermarket gauges like autometer. But I have no idea what type of signal there gauges work off of.
