Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
We'll see what kind of room I have once I get those LPP's mounted. I've heard people have to go back to stock size filters because of the headers getting in the way.

hmm, i dont think thats possible.... mine arent even close. (a deep WIX filter is pictured here)
We'll see either way. Once the break in period is over I'll be replacing the filter and cutting this fram one open to make sure there's no metal shavings or anything in there.
Hrm, I haven't read it in a while, but I'm pretty sure that there was mention in the Lpp thread over on tech that a SHORTER than stock filter was used with them.

That's what I was telling my dad but stupid LS1Tech's search never works. I tried to search the thread for filter and it only returned 1 result of someone saying they went back to using their stock filter. I tried searching for oil and again only found that one post... I know for a fact there was more mentions about it in that thread but damned LS1Tech's search function BLOWS! I figured since it was the only post I saw that I must have been imagining things so thanks for posting that Kyle, now I know I read that in there after all.

Yeah, their new search totally sucks! I have been using quotes around the words I want to search and searching in specific forums, not the general forum.
I like the K&N filters because they have the shape of a nut molded in to the bottom of the filter so you can get a wrench on it.
I agree with everyone, with all the time and effort you have spent I would not put a fram on for even a minute. Get a napa/wix and be safe , the various sites and youtube are filled with fram horror stories. $7 is cheap for the importance of break-in.

I used one on my Firebird, got the oil change done, started the car and it pissed all over the place. I'll never use one of those pieces of sh*t again, i stick with the K&N now.
wow that was a lot of reading and I caught up just yesturday! Looking good Brian I really hope you get that tranny soon so you can get this beast running! But as most have said I agree about the Fram oil filters I used to use them but I ran into a couple bad ones as well and I swear I will never use one again!
Amazing! I have used Fram Filters for more years than most of you are old. Never had a problem, used them on many different model cars including my Porsche. Someone mentioned they got better oil pressure using a certain filter, beware the oil pressure you read is the result of oil flow, the more restricted flow the higher the oil pressure. Example when main and rod bearing wear, more clearance oil flows easier and less oil pressure. So I believe there are good (all) oil filters and there are BETTER oil filter. Our plan was spend the money and put on the better filter after break in and also headers are not on so might need to change to different filter before we start it up.
