Okay...how do YOU dry your car?

I voted chamois, but I use a squegee first to get the majority of the water off, then I use the chamois.

I did try the leafblower once, but that took way too long and wasn't getting all of the water off.

I used to be a die-hard chamois user, but I think I've been getting paint swirls from it . . . I tried microfiber towels for the first time this year, and I'm now far happier. They are easier, quicker, and do a better job with less chance of scratching. I will never go back to the leather lol.

The leaf blower thing sounds interesting but I've never really had a problem with the water in the nooks and crannies, 'cuz I always let the car sit for a couple hours after washing, then I go over it again with the towel, opening the hatch, doors, t-tops, etc to get all those little drops. I guess I'm just anal.

all you people who havnt tried the leaf blower.. you must!!

Use a Leaf blower + absorber and you will be a Happy 'anal' person..

big-ol' microfiber drying towel, then blast out the water traps with the compressor(corner lights, door handles, etc. then go back over it with detailing microfibers.

I really wanted to try the leaf blower method, So I get out my leaf blower and the ****er wont start so I ****ed with this thing for like an hour. Toke apart the carb and ran 1/2 can of starting fluid thew the ***** and shit and I still couldn't get it to run, By the time the car dried by its damn self haha

Need to get a electric leaf blower.

It's best to use a leaf blower that you don't use regularly for lawn duty. I'd hate to have a blower launch something at my car.

Eagle One Wax as your dry, or I just let it dry off it self. I'm not that anal about it since it's in all the weather anyway.

Just towels...like whatever we have in my house (they're almost like beach towels)

I've got a whole system....

1st I use a california water blade on the large areas. I keep all my stuff in a rubbermaid tub to keep in from getting contaminated, you have to make sure anything you use on the car stays clear of the ground - once it touches the ground, it is ruined. And make sure any dirt gets washed off not wiped off when you dry the car.

2nd I use my air compressor to get the water out of the mirrors, hood louvers, taillights, seams.

3rd I use freshly washed and softened microfiber towels to touch up where the others couldn't reach.

I NEVER DO THIS IN DIRECT SUN ALWAYS IN THE GARAGE. I have well water and the sun will dry it too quick and leave spots - even with the inline filter I have on the hose.

Maybe I'm a little anal, but I have 21 year old paint on the IROC that still looks new. The 69, the paint is now 7 years old and still looks like the day it was wheeled out.

i love washin my car but it really sucks because we have sand and crap in our water on the taps outside

You can go to an RV Camper store / showroom and pick up an inline filter for your hose......that would get rid of the sediment in your water
