So to recap, everyone says your opinion is wrong, and no.

Do what you want, its your car. If you're asking me, I say ditto. I get the weight savings, but if that's all you want, axle dump it.

Eh just do how mine is. Headers, SLP loudmouth bolted to header, and forgot the rest of the exhaust. So its dumped under the driver and passenger seats pretty much haha. I can cruise all day and talk even on the freeway it isn't loud. Stomp on it and its loud.

        Did someone say side exhaust?

          Thats pretty awesome lol.

I'm just saying that an axle dump or side exhaust are just two different means of achieving the same goal. Its like arguing which is better, a pushrod or pullrod suspension. Each has their own reasons for their choice. Personally for me, it was easier to route it out the side than to snake it underneath to the rear axle. I wouldn't have gained any additional ground clearance doing an axle dump, so I did what was easier for me. My exhaust is headers, y-pipe, Borla XR-1, and out the side.
Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere.

For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day, you shall have a track day, a Sabbath of competing, to time the FIREBIRD; whoever does any work on it shall be put in last place.

Atleast the mustang in my first post had the decency to put a rolled tip on..
                  Im kidding.

But if you're looking to lose weight, Axle dump.. There are no body lines that support side exiting exhaust.
And really, those with custom exhaust setups. our "cat-backs" weigh less than the stock system anyway..

Again, I think the boom tubes can look decent, but obviously this is for a race application only.

He's obviously going to put one back in, but there was no room to fit exhaust under the car
