Just to be clear I never asked Texas Speed for anything compensation, I only brought it up to make them awary that the mistake they made, costed the customer $1300, none of which i asked for them to pay, only thing i asked for help on was with shipping, which i feel they should have covered.. for the extended cost they caused me. I even paid for the next set of headers insted of waiting for the replacement.. gald i did cus now there out of stock. as far as that post on LS1tech the guy was talking about the issues and had installing the headers, and 3 guys from texas speed got on there and bashed the guy.. they did say they were going to look at there jigs as they've have some complaints of headers not fitting right and having a lot of issues installing the. i understand they pay lots of money for good press but some times the negative of there customer service and issue with there product needs to be known and they should look at there product. but i can tell you after this experince with them.. i will not go back.

what all is in this 1300.00 bucks ? If they sent you the wrong part all they need to do is send you the correct part, you ship the wrong part back, they credit you the shipping on the wrong part, seems to me it would be a wash..other then your car sitting on jack stands for a extra week

250ft of header wrap with snap kits, time to remove header wrap, hi temp spray. time to clean up wrong headers. time spent sitting at ken's...@ $150 a day for 6 days (cant just let the car sit for free.) $50 bucks to three day air the next set of headers.

shit add up.. even the next set of headers they sent which are to be the correct F-Body headers are not fitting right... these 1 3/4" TSP headers are junk... should have went with pacesetters or hookers... gonna change them this winter with head and cam swap.

          Wait, $150/day sitting charge? I hope that's a joke.

I'm thinking the same thing. I'd hope you aren't being charged sitting at Kens

I will let Matt explain better but no there wasn't no $150 a day sitting charge from me. There was more charges for additional work yes. I'm not that way. I think it was just easyer for him to explain it.
Anyone who's had me do work for them knows I go out of my way to help out, my hourly charges aren't even where they should be by no means. And I'm no shade tree machanic Iv invested plenty of money in my automotive career.
But Matt is right these headers are junk. Passanger side has a primary tube putting pressure against the bell houseing. driver side hits the frame and the motor. I'm having to finesse these things in there.
I'm almost wondering if something Happend to there computer system as far as part numbers go. But there's no way these can be considered a good fit.

The one $150 price is stretched a little bit, this is what was told to the guys at Texas speed so that there was some effort to help out... which they could have cared less.

6days times 150 per day equals 900 bucks which Ken said he doesnt charge a sitting fee ( I know this cause Jakes car sat at Kens for a yr ) I dont think header wrap and spray paint and an 8 hr day comes to 1300 dollars, also the shipping was credited to you from TS so that was a wash. List everything that this mistake actually cost you, and by all means pay yourself for the time you spent posting on here and talking with TS.

Dont get me wrong they sent you the wrong part, Thats TS fault and issue that they are correcting, which they are or did sent the right part already. You might have paid for it upfront but then they will return you that amount when they get their wrong part back. IF these new headers dont fit right, why not send them back and buy a better brand like you said you were already going to do, which you have to pay Ken for his time to R&R wrap the new headers, which new header wrap kit....why not do it right the first time and be done?

they prob laughed when you said a 150 dollar a day storage fee bc everyone knows that is a joke.. dont lie to people and expect them to believe you no matter what.. you could have said that to me over the phone and i would laugh and say there is no way in hell.. and then bc you lied.. me not want to help you as much.

I do give Matt big props here. he is willing to send picture of the problem spots to tsp to help them with the problem spots so they can get the issue fixed. And the next guy hopefully won't have the same problem. He's just under M&G pressure.

Correct. I do this stuff more to help out than to make money. I don't charge anywhere near a shop price and they get the same knowledge. I do this to help the little guy out, to help the guy that had to save up for a year to get his car worked on at a very affordable price. Iv been known to even cut my own throat trying to help.
But I do stand behind my customers, and the way Matt was treated was B.S. now he's been talking with the owner and he seems to be very apologetic. Matt did take on some extra charges. And has still found himself with the abuility to want to help them out. And I feel that pretty Kool considering Matt isn't a big baller and just has money to toss around.

The whole point it to make it known they have a problemm.. the ball is in their court on how they chose to correct it. I've offered to help them as much as i can so none off the otther millions of gear heads and know it all don't run in ton the same headack as before... I obviously feel differently then they way the rest of you guys do.. just trying to share my experience to help out the next guy, but if I was looking for a tounge lashing I'd go see my ex gf....

I would have loved just go buy another set of headers but im not sponsored by mom and dad and i own my own house at the age of 25 other expenses need to be paid ... the car has sit the last 2 weeks at kens and there's other things I'd like to get done to the car before the M&G obviously not gonna happen at this point.. so I'm just gonna have to suffer with what I've been dealt and move on redo it all this winter.
