you won't lose any power over a 3" but if the merge is 4" then stay that size as long as you don't have tight clearance.
    Doing less with more

What 3" exhaust where you using? Do you have dyno/track #'s before and after?

Not doubting you at all, just going through the same decision right now myself and the more info the better.

Slp 20tl with a cutout. And i also had two different y-pipes, one which made better power than the other.

No dyno or track numbers but seat of the pants gain going to the duals was very noticeable, although actually my biggest gains were from 2500-4500 rpm

Did you gain power with the dual Flowmasters even vs. the 3" cutout open?

Another thing to consider is the sound. A 4" exhaust sounds awesome

I'm rollin with 3" on mine. I doubt it's robbing power. Here's how it sounds:

I bet it picks up 10+ at the wheels going from a POS TSP Y-pipe and Rumbler to a 3-4" Flowmaster merge and a 4" cutout.

I think I might see if the exhaust place I go to can run a 3.5" then throw a cutout on. Are the Kooks Y pipe merges good?

You can always fabricate your own merge too. Its not rocket science, just make a smooth transition and add some volume for some h-pipe-like balancing.

For the cost of a Flowmaster merge it's not worth messing with
