unlikely but it is possible. they tend to go bad on a new set of ceramic headers if the coating hasnt been baked on yet.-Joel

Ok. But I have stainless.
I had about 15 minutes with it running good. W.o.t. is excellent, but thats about it. Cruising you can hear it misfiring.
I ordered 2 , delco, o2 sensors. Now I need extensions. I solderd in extensions on the old ones. They looked ok. No broken wires.
Maybe I should extend the harness? One side will reach, I don't remember if the other side did or not. It was a bit tight but we'll see.
I'm a bit worried that there wasnt any code on the
o2, only the maf code. But the maf apeared to be
working. so Iddunno.
And just so you know. I did readjust the lifters on the drivers side. Not that that should have any effect on this. But just for informational purposes, full disclosure etc.

Unplug the MAF to force speed density mode.
And the behavior you describe is on par with what I experienced when I had a bad O2 sensor. My car wouldn't run worth a shit at cruise speed, but full throttle it ran great... i remember that pretty clearly because I was trying to get it home from woodward and the car was being a PITA in traffic... when i finally got a clearing i let it rip and got nailed for 23 over ... dont do that

Well that didn't do shit. It did run ok for a while. About 30 minutes. Then it went right back to it. High idle, rpms hunting up and down, spark knocking , missing. Ran like this for a while, then, while I stood there with the hood open, the damn thing stopped missing and the rpms dropped to normal. I shut the hood and made it to the corner. It started to do it again. I took it home and parked it. I unplugged the maf. No change. I unplugged the knock sensor, no change.
I am completely baffled. It doesn't apear to be temperature sensitive. It just randomly decides to run like shit.
It has a new msd optispark, and a new coil, new wires, and plugs and 2 new o2 sensors.
I'm going to borrow an ecm tomorrow and try that.
If anyone has any thoughts, or hunches please feel free to list them. I am out of ideas.
