Hello all, not sure if this is the right spot to post this if not I apologize and please move it to the appropriate place. I'm in the middle of doing a starter on my girlfriend 04 chevy trailblazer 4x4 4.2 i6 engine, I replaced it an fired it up everything was fine, until I realized I heard the starter motor still running. I quickly turned the key off and the starter motor was still running, it was disengaged from the flywheel but the electric motor was still going... Anyone have any ideas on why its doing this? I'm at wits end and getting very frustrated with it!

sounds to me that the key relay is not coming off the start selection and to the run. constantly completing the circuit to the starter. sounds like a wiring issue.wishing i could drive like joe and the atm squad

yeah thats what i was thinking... but before the starter was totally fine just turned over slow n the solenoid was randomly disengaging while trying to turn the engine over. It was only apart for maybe 45 mins?Originally posted by MunsterZ28 View Postsounds to me that the key relay is not coming off the start selection and to the run. constantly completing the circuit to the starter. sounds like a wiring issue.1995 Firebird Formula (Sold but not forgotten)

The starter is a reman. so i was wondering if there was any way it be backfeeding power from the solenoid to the motor causing it to stay running?1995 Firebird Formula (Sold but not forgotten)

you can try taking the starter back and exchanging it to me it sounds like the starter solenoid is stuck closed. completing the curcuit
what were the old starters symtoms being the reason for replacement?Last edited by MunsterZ28; September 29th, 2013, 08:00 PM.wishing i could drive like joe and the atm squad
