I'd assume an HID bulb that replaces an #880 (or the brighter #893) halogen bulb

(Camaro's are #881 or #894, right angle connectors instead of the straight out)

i have the DDM tuning HID kit in my truck and trans am head lights!!! i have the 6k 35w so its a nice natural white light. you can see so much better going down the road and the critters eyes pop out sooner, because the lights shoot out quite a distance. i also have HID's in the fog lights on my trans am, before i switched my headlights over i was using just the hid fog lights as my head lights because they were much much brighter then the crappy halligen lights. i do a lot of night driving so the HID is a great investment in my safety.

DDM Tuning is the way to go. good quality, fast shipping, the price is great they also have life time replacement on the bulbs and balliest

I looked at DDM but only for a brief moment and then i think i made the mistake of impulse buying the eBay kit. Ive heard the ballasts have water seepage problems but where i plan on mounting them i shouldnt run into problems but if i do ill make sure to go to DDM.

Honestly it seems like most of the ballasts are all sourced from the same manufacturer anyway. They all look the same.

Well i had a feeling this would be a pain in the ass. but not this big. im starting to thing that maybe i got sent the wrong HID bulb..

First off i had to completely undo the fog light housing from the metal bumper in order to detach the wiring then i was able to twist and pull out the original bulb with relative ease. when it comes to putting in the HID bulb i cannot get it at all. I can take the stock bulb in and out with no problem, but i cannot get the HID bulb to make the 1/4 turn to lock in. so im thinking im gonna have to pull the entire fog light assembly out in order to get them in, has anyone had experience doing HIDs in the 98-02 trans ams. / and or removing the assembly. please give me some pointers! TIA

Well, i finally got them in. after i discovered that the cheap eBay gasket that comes on the HID is actually too thick for them to seat properly and lock in. so i took the gasket from the stock bulbs and put them on the HIDS. one bummer is my dad did some experimenting or whatever with one of the bulbs and didnt know you cannot touch them .. so i figured i'd throw it in there anyway. and it burnt out instantly.

                      Video.

P.S Yes i know my DRL is out. its just out of the socket right now.

Pictures while they were still "burning in" and were very very green.

starting to yellow a little more (still just one foglight night shots)
