  • HID Fogs..

Well, since i have access to my car during the storage months i was considering doing a yellow (3000k) HID fog light setup. i know most of you are going to bash with JDM and ricer comments, but please dont.. I think it'll look good and its pretty unique to the f-body world.
Anyway i was looking at those $35 slim ballast HID kits from Ebay, does anyone have experience with them and/or have pictures? Thanks IA

Go to ddmtuning.com and buy their normal size ones they have. I have had good luck with them in the past

3000k yellow? Please don't. Seriously. It's not about it being more fitting on a Civic, it's that it would be ****ing obnoxious. Please just do 4300k.

        This is just disgustingly obnoxious...

Do you plan on driving in shitty weather or racing in the slower class at LeMons?

            HID Fogs..

It's actually a European thing, not ricer. 12 and 24 hour endurance racing has used yellow lights forever. They would actually use aircraft landing lights back in the day due to the superior visibility at night. Ricers just like to copy anything that looks cool from real race cars.

I don't think it would be too obnoxious.. That picture is probably with yellow headlights..

It was even before that. In France it was required to have "selective yellow" headlights up unil the early thirties.

I dig it. My boss ran them in his old H3 hummer. and a buddy of mine had them in his super duty for a while and just recently swapped 'em. they're not "super bright" like everyone thinks, but they give off a nice color that has high visibility. Another friend of mine ran them in his head lights and fogs in his Jeep, it looked cool and didn't look mustard yellow like that dumb filtered picture above.....

best picture I could find that kind of shows it. Cool little truck for an H3, it was just a ***** truck and couldn't pull boats around so it was sent on down the road.

33x12.5r20 Nitto Mud Grapplers, lasted a solid 15K miles on that light little "truck"

                      HID Fogs..

Now back to the same question. Has anyone got experience with the slim HID setup? From what I see it looks too easy to be true..

The ballasts I had on my trailblazer were from a kit I originally purchased for $125... only to find the exact same ones on ebay later for $35. As long as the ebay seller has good feedback and if they mention any type of warranty I wouldn't bee too worried. HIDs have gotten so popular that the parts are a dime a dozen now.
