Friend of mine ran an msd on his camaro before it broke. It lasted about a year, I don't know the mileage. I do not know if mine is the original or not but I have put 40k on the car since I have had it and it is a delco unit.

Chandler Motorsports opti can be had for under $100 making the 24x conversion that much more overkill.- Brian Meissen

Have you changed plugs and wires, thats easier than the opti and could be the issue.
EDIT: I had intermittant miss and finally changed opti which didn't fix it, sold opti for 20 bucks and think its still running.Last edited by 98blackbeauty; October 23rd, 2012, 06:44 PM.sigpic

at least 3x the cost of a typical opti replacement. I think it will be one of the best things I'll ever do to my car though. I believe that the difference in these systems is THE biggest reason for the LS1s good reputation and resale in comparison to the LT1. Had the LT1 been 24x from the factory, we would have seen a MUCH bigger aftermarket.Originally posted by hoogiesngrinderz View Post24x will cost you a LOT more, no matter how Dutch you are...Last edited by JoeliusZ28; October 23rd, 2012, 07:29 PM.-Joel

ignition is the only reason I did/am considering an LS swap. Its just a far superior system.1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 - 6 Speed

I put new delco plugs in it 10,000 miles ago and new msd wires. I'd like to think that's not my issue but I'm not ruling it out. I hate trying to diagnose intermittent issues. But I hate throwing parts at it till its fixed even worse.Originally posted by Plum Nuts View PostHave you changed plugs and wires, thats easier than the opti and could be the issue.
