  • Im stumped!!! Please Help!

Ok so anyhow......I originally thought my z needed a new optispark. Now im not sure. Saturday I drove the thing and it left me stranded for nearly 2 hours. It was chugging and sputtering and running like garbage. welll I went in to a store and came out and the thing would barely start. When I would get it started I had to rev it up a bit to get the idling to smooth out. I would then try to put it in any gear and as soon as I would do that, the car would stall. Well it has been parked in the driveway since then, I started it up last night and the thing ran like a brand new car. I dont wanna go spend the money on the opti if that is not what is wrong. Any ideas??????

Could be fuel related, has anyone changed the fuel filter or run some injector cleaner through it??

no, I havent changed the fuel filter. I will try some injector cleaner tonight and see what happens. It did throw a check engine light on twice on saturday but it is no longer there.

Before you do anything Missy I'd have someone check what codes were thrown when you check engine light came on.......that may point you in the right direction.

I dont have anyone that can come and check the codes. If I could drive it, I could go to my buddies, but i dont want to get stranded again.

how close is auto zone. Or have your buddy bring his reader to your place. I agree with Scott to check codes first to maybe get pointed in the right direction.
