Yeah, the EFI Connection looks awesome... I absolutely love that they get rid of the opti entirely. The other ones just don't seem worth it because you still have the rotor in there which is the main part that's always failing anyway from what I've been told.

yep - im just curious if the cam sensors they have developed are going to hold up the way they should. Mitsubishi came up with the opti and have been running it for years using their sensors with hardly any problems. The opti is a vrey great system if you understand it, the only weakness thats there is in fact the rotor alone.
GM's bright idea of plastic rivet's, made the opti notorious for the rotor prone to failing. Anywhere near 6k rpm's and you might as well just hope that your opti rotor is going to shatter because it will. My MSD has screws holding the rotor in, but because of the vibrations the screws tend to back out, just like header bolts.
If I do an LTCC or Delteq, I WILL be removing the rotor from the unit entirely. I don't want it bouncing around in my dist. lol. I have some reading up to do, but I'm just looking to see if anyone has tried these out, and their opinions on them if so?

See I've had 2 problems so far with 2 opti's shattering. I think I'm probably leading up to my 3rd one. I'd just like to get rid of this problem. If it breaks this time around I will probably be selling it.Joe - ATM SQUADAt the shop, watching them build my car.

my first one Blew up and when i opened it up it looked like a dust bowl.
but i've had 5k miles so far on my new motor with this opti and i haven't had a problem yet. main reason why my old opti died was the guy that installed it put a screw into the air tube cause he didn't know where it went and tucked it away and my opti had a crack so water leaked in constantly.

I have an electric water pump, and it's sealed very good so I'm not worried about that (knock on wood). Mine is vented, and has less than 1500 miles on it right now.We'll see what happens but you guys might see my car posted for sale

Ah, an opti is easy enough to fix with a nice car like ya got, Joe.
But someone correct me if I'm wrong - it was my understanding that the LTCC or Delteq conversions still use the rotor? Seems like if they still use the part that's prone to failing you're not really getting as much benefit out of either of those two designs.- Brian Meissen

Ah, thanks for the info. I think those systems look freaking sweet on LT1 cars. Going to have to hold my breath and hope for the best with my opti once the car is running again.- Brian Meissen

good luck finding a good place to put them then.
