The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. So I been toying with the idea for a while of selling my t56 and going auto. Was wondering what your guys insight would be to keep the t56 or go with a nice stalled th350 with a manual valve body
Motor is a 383 with mild cam
Should add the car really is going to be a Sunday driver

keep the 6 speed for a fun cruiser. stalled auto with no OD makes for a vehicle that isn't as fun to go long distances with (I can still go down the highway at 75 mph, but I try to avoid it if I can, Carlos spools hard at a 75 roll though )
Jon have you ever driven a stick vehicle for a few days? With your size I would bring up the question it there enough room for you to comfortably? (as you know you have o move your left leg more with a manual)
But it really comes down to personal preferance.
IMO if it sporty car it should be a stick, if it a cruiser it should be an automatic.
If you need a turbo 350, I have a core you can have $50 with dipstick and convertor.
Never in a car or a sports car trucks ya if I went manual ill have to move the seat back 2-3 inch or so
How tall are you? I dunno about 3rd gens, but I've always considered 4th gens to be pretty tall-person friendly and the floor pans/layout seem quite similar. I'm 6'2" and have tons of room, could even move the seat back further. My buddy who's 6'5" has driven my car several times and had plenty of room. Now get me in a C3 corvette and there's no way in hell I could drive a stick in that. Hell I can barely drive an auto in that, they put the steering wheel right where my knees go.

I think either way you go manual or auto your going to have move the seat back 2-3 inches anyhow. I think that will be the most comfortable driving position for you anyhow.
