      Shift points can be a common problems with tuning. When Vector tuned mine with just headers and 3.73s my shift points were botched. It was hitting off the rev limiter. I called them about it and they said it was probably due to bad transmission... Found out later it was the tune and had it fixed from a different source.

      When Vector tuned my oil burning cam engine the shift points were spot on with no changes to the stock trans.

      On this new tune I'm not sure as obviously the trans was broken. However, Steve did mention he may not have the shift points right due to the cold weather. Coulda just been cause 3rd was bad so it threw him off.

          Kyle A. fixed that - there was air in the system

          her problem with TJ was with the tuning for her trans and the 4_00 stall that she has in it

            i didnt read thru all 4 pages of this thread, but just call tj and talk to him. it might take a while for him to return your call, but he knows that he's doing. he tuned my car at first with eztuners or something i think, then when i went to speed density tune and he did it with HP tuners. i started my car up today (its about 15 degrees) and it started right up and idles fine. in the hottest day of the summer at 100 degrees it does the same thing. cant complain about the tune at all. i dont ask questions about what my knock count and injector pulse etc are at because i dont know whats good or bad. he told me my duty cycle is low, which i know is good since i'm using 83lb/hr injectors. he dyno tuned it, then took it out on the street and makes sure it drives good. my wideband wasnt working, so he hooked his up and tuned it with that.
            98 z28, m6, monster clutch, eibach pro kit, custom twin turbo setup, 317 heads, z06 valve springs, arp rod bolts, 512rwhp at 10lbs. cobra eater

              Yea, I'll be trying to get ahold of him. As I said, maybe he won't have to do anything. The tune I have now could be perfectly fine. I just need a security blanket

                Tunes can't fix mechanical problems. Shift points I can understand...

                  My bad - I thought the thermostat was related to the tune's settings on when the thermo should open. The trans issue was definitely a result of TJ's tune, th ough.

                    Liz did have a problem in the tune with the t stat cat remember 100% but it wasn't allowing the fans to come on at the right temp or something like that. Also had it tuned for a different degree t stat too.

I'm sorry if I am someone that wants to know specifics about work done to my car instead of just throwing money at it, getting it done and walking away. This car is my money blood sweat and tears, I did all the work with this biuld but bulid the engine as I wanted one set of hands working on it, and the trans as I don't have the proper tools and know how and the tune as I don't have the tools or know how. I know where my limits are when working on a car, thus I hand it to professionals and I'm disappointed if I don't get the work or service I feel I deserve when I fork over hard earned money.

                      I did not know Steve was a member here but honestly at this point it doesn't matter. I'm a nice person and I work well with people, sadly I do not think they have any urgency to work with me or trouble shoot the issues that I believe involve them. I already decided before posting this thread that I am going somewhere else, I'm just not happy with their services and that's fine. As I said, I know they produce good work and I'm not afraid to drive the car around at this point. However, I need some questions answered before I'm 100% comfortable with it. Hopefully another tuner can give me the answers I seek.
                      Mark, sorry you misunderstood my point. I was not defending them, but giving general statements based on your post. My point was to get help to resolve your problem from tuner and get advise. As I said hope new tuner works out good for you.

                        Was he made aware of all of that?

                        Thats the most basic part of tuning.


                        I watched him Tune David's LS3 Trans Am and he did an awesome job. Hope I have a car that runs that good some day.

                            lol they told you, you can't make 400rwhp on a 383? I made over 500 to the wheels on a 385 on MOTOR on 93 octane.


                            Steve tuned my car, he had it for over a week. I was told to come and get it, and that he would do a nitrous tune when I brought it back. After paying Steve for the tune, I could never get ahold of him again, through PM's, phone call's, or anything. Goodluck.

                            Steve did clean up the previous tune which was garbage, and he pointed out some other things to me as well. But once I realized some things with the tune that I wasn't happy with, and that I wanted to bring it back to do the nitrous tune, I never heard from him.

                              Nice #'s! Was he the one who got those numbers from the 385, or did you have a final tune on it done somewhere else? Was that the motor combo you posted on here the other day or something different? Those are very impressive numbers for all motor on 93.

                                Steve did the tune, we changed some things but not much. I would've liked to have seen what it would've done on the 225.

                                Steve was great to deal with, and knew what he was doing but the follow-through would've made things a lot better.
