What's the most HP you would put in a street car?

Exactly, as soon as they hook kiss that thing goodbye if you dont have it setup right. I had sticky tires for most of this last year, but wouldnt put them on because I hadnt done rel brackets or put the new cover on yet.

1.6's here with STOCK suspension

10 bolts have gone 10's pplenty of times. softwall tires and with an auto they hold pretty good for what they are
same with vettes. they live a lot longer with et streets than a radial

Wow, thats quick! I always feel like im beating on the thing. Hoping to get the cover and new suspension pieces on over christmas here. Gotta go buy a bunch of kerosene first though!

thanks for the link larry. i have a m6 with 342's you have an auto with 373s. urs will hold up way longer lol but i'll look into that when i replace the rear

I know A4's are easier on 10 bolts than M6's. Get a 9" dude....

I guess it all depends how expensive the fuel you want to buy. Should be able to get 500 HP or so on pump gas. Anything more and some expensive fuel will be needed.

personally for a street car, I would make as much power as the engine and drivetrain would handle. If you are smart enough to make the HP then you are smart enough to keep your right foot out of it when the time comes. IMO. As far as driveability, matching parts like cam, converter, rear gear, tire size etc all play a big part. And the biggest part of it is the tune. I didnt read this entire thread so my apologies if those points have already been made lol

A larger CI motor and a more efficient head/chamber can make more HP on less octane. That being said, as I stated before my car made over 600 to the tire on pump gas and 10 pounds

i forget if stenod was using 93 but his engine was all stock except for valve springs and made over 600. it never broke. he removed the turbo and sold the car but the new owner later bought the kit and joe put it back on.

"REAL octane" could be 110 octane as much as it could be 87 octane
