Steve -SB Tuning did my formy. Did a great job woke my car up runs like a scared rabbit. Wouldn't hesitate to recomend him to anyone. One reason there are complains from some peeps though the tuners are at the mercy of the car and owner. Problems don't always surface till later, and has nothing to do with tune.

honestly EVERY tuner has bad stories there are just too many people to make everyone happy 100% of the time, go with whoever you feel comfortable with and who treats you right. Bad experiences happen and IMO its ok to tell everyone about your experience if its good or bad.

No I think the highest he got it to trap was 117 before he sold it, I think it had more in it though. He didn't have much seat time in a stick car at all.

[QUOTE=my95z28;655802He tuned Davids big cammed LS3 and made it very driveable. Only issue I noticed was the idle liked to hang when slowing down.[/QUOTE]

I think this spring I'm going to continue to work on Phil's VE tables that were mapped out for my car...maybe a lot more driving and logging will help improve them a bit. Driveability is fine but a little surging down low. Weird idle problem too since my TPS wouldn't reset to 0% closed when he was tuning it.

After doing some reading it really doesn't seem that bad to learn. Need a wideband though.

I had TJ tune my car last summer and overall I am pleased with the results. TJ spent the time to tune the VE tables and now my car idle/runs better with my 230/234 than it did with my 224 (the 224 was tuned by a "reputable" LS1 tuner who probably just raped the tables). Since that time I purchased HPTuners. I logged TJ's tune and it is very close. With that said there are a few things that I dont agree with so I will be making some tweaks.

I wish I had taken the advice from others years ago and learned to tune myself. I'm doing it now but I could have saved hundreds of dollars over the years and been much further ahead. You know your car and goals better than anyone so you are in the best position to tune it exactly how you want it. However, if you are not willing to make the commitment I would recommend TJ. He was very easy to work with and did a decent job considering he tuned it in a single day.
