Lol...I say keep it in there Larry...it helps resale value...that's why I'm putting a system back in mineOriginally posted by OIF1VET View PostGood try James. I disagree with the hacking the car apart, part... Do it right, looks nice.. But, gonna keep it for now. If the motor ever comes out, so is the A/C. Call it what you will, like it or not.

Why is everyone busting a nut about him keeping it when he himself said he hasn't used it in 5 years??? Hell it probably wont even blow cold since its been so long since its been used/recharged.
That being said I would still keep it Larry only for the fact you really cant to a clean "un-install" without taking the motor out. If you were taking the motor out I would ditch it in a heartbeat if only for the fact that it cleans up the look of the engine bay so much.

A/C works great. I turned it on once or twice a year just to see if it worked. It wasn't until I saw the delete thread at Tech that I realized what all needed to come out to make it look neat, and that to accomplish this is virtually impossible with the motor in.sigpic

but if you polish your hoses (steel) lines it will shine and look good, take a look at 01badbirds motor compartment, im thinking i might put mine back together since we may move to phoenix in a few yrs. ill have to put the pump on the driver side since i put the alt on the pass. bottom.sigpic

do away with it if you want Larry, the term "streetcar" has no definition its all about what you'll tolerate. If you keep the parts you could always have to option of putting it back on any time. You'd think you were putting a park bench spoiler on the rear with all the hostility in this thread lol. Funny thing is that putting an ugly spoiler on your car would affect everyone else more than you removing your a/c because then we'd have to look at it
you having no a/c only affects whoever is in the car when its hot out.

I agree. It's your car, do with it what you want. I used lexan for my plate and painted the inside. Looks like clear coat. I wouldn't spend the money on a premade plate. Take the time to make a template and transfer it to your material of choice and cut away. I never used my a/c only use heat on those cold nights so saved some weight and removed everything that was not needed. Really opens up the engine bay too and makes it much better to work on. I see you have most of the inside torn apart. It don't take too long to pull the rest of the dash out then you can pull the entire module out and cut off the a/c portion. Then you can install the block off plate on the inside of the firewall.Originally posted by OIF1VET View PostI disagree with the hacking the car apart, part... Do it right, looks nice..
