I didn't either I just told him they're Mahle pistons and he said "Oh, those are forged - you're good."

The Engine can make more power at WOT by leaning out the fuel mixture from 12.0:1 to about 13.0:1 A/F mixture at certain RPM ranges, however your EGT (exhaust temps) will be extremely high and you could melt the Cats if you are not careful!

So if you don't have cats, is the 13.0 afr that bad?

For the amount of time you are going to be at WOT it should not matter. The exhaust valves can only handle so much heat also! It depends on what type of exhaust valves you have in your engine!
Valves can also run hot because of elevated combustion temperatures. Factors such as retarded ignition timing, lean fuel mixtures (could be due to vacuum leaks), detonation (from too much compression or low octane fuel) or preignition (from hot spots caused by deposits in the combustion chamber or too hot a spark plug) can all play a role. Likewise, exhaust restrictions such as a clogged catalytic converter or crushed pipe can make the valves run hot.

generally wot is set to 12.8-13.0 for NA
            11.8-12.0 for spray
if you watch stock cars on the dyno you may occasionally see a puff or two of black smoke. that is cat protection mode

Adjusting fuel pressure to tune a car is like driving in a nail with a sledgehammer.

GM does that from factory to stop the motor from Destruction.

Is it 100% factual that all mahle pistons are forged cause State Motor didn't say anything special about the pistons - they were just the quickest ones he could get. Hell he was going to bore 0.030 or 0.040 based solely on which pistons he could get faster lol. And is that really all that the forged pistons would be good for is nitrous or do they just make the engine more bullet proof?

They are most likely forged, but I believe the stock pistons in an LT1 were produced by Mahle.

Mahle makes a good product. If you have a pic of the pistons I can tell you a lot more about them just from that

Forged assembly makes your engine stronger. It can survive more heat, pressure, resistance to detonation.

Problem becomes blowing the main caps out or the heads off.

Only pictures I have are of the pistons in the block - so just the top of the pistons.

those arent the "better" pistons that I was hoping you had, but they are still OK. They should be forged
