really? blowing the main caps out or the heads off? yeah maybe with 30 lbs. or a 300 shot, but then still I think the main caps would still not "blow out"

I'm not saying on this motor 350 are stout motors that handle a lot of pressure but other motors have a chance of blowing the main caps off. If you are worried I saw in JEGs, Eagle makes a 4 bolt conversion for the 2 bolt mains. You just drill and tap and extra hole and the caps have 4 bolts instead of the F-Body LT1 2 bolt mains.

The LLO in my Saturns, 1.9L DOHC at around 300hp the head starts to float on the block even with studs. They way around it is to step the block. Hahaha. Or buy an Eagle block for like 2000.

yeah LS motors will lift heads at big power levels as Ryan mentioned, that why the aftermarket LSx stuff is 6 bolts per cylinder instead of the traditional 4 bolts. Once you get real crazy then guys o-ring the block
          Doing less with more

yeah I am well aware of a 4 bolt splayed main conversion LOL. Even a two bolt main wont "shoot off" It just lets the bearing walk and it will wear very crazily or you will spin main bearings. The idea of a main cap shooting off is kinda a funny picture for some reason

This kid I knew bought a s10 with a 4.3 votec same bore and stroke as a 350. Like 20 days later it through a rod and looked like bugs bunny tried to jump through the oil pan.

ok........ so a rod bearing probably spun, locked up a broke a rod. A lot different and more common than "shooting off" a main cap.

a 4 bolt main is just there to add more stability and pressure on the bearing. It not to prevent it from shooting off where did you hear that a main cap can shoot off from?

Hell he was going to bore 0.030 or 0.040 based solely on which pistons he could get faster lol. And is that really all that the forged pistons would be good for is nitrous or do they just make the engine more bullet proof?
B I could probably find out for you. My dad works at Mahle doing their filter systems but the pistons group is in the same building.
