25, 1 sq foot piece spread throughout the car would make a difference compared to 25 sq feet in one spot. But llike I and Laryy said, you need more than 25 sq ft for an entire car. 50 feet is a good starting point IMO.

you dont need to cover every square inch with the stuff. 25 sq ft. will really quiet down a car, but it wont even come close to covering all bare metal you see

I used the cheap knock-off asphalt based stuff when I did my car 6-7 years ago.....didn't make too much of a difference. Someday I'm gonna rip that junk out and put in some better stuff.

Yep, I plan on using chasis saver to coat the inside before using sound deadener as well, I know it has sound-deadening properties... not to mention will preserve the car longer.

But i really like quiet interiors so id like to do both if possible.

You sure thats a good idea? Seems like it would just be asking to trap moisture in. I'm not 100% on it, just somethin you might wanna look into.

I can say with 100% certainty, the fatmat rattlertrap quieted the shit out of my car.. Was worth every penny!

did you keep the carpet insulation as well Larry? I'm planning on doing this but its more to save weight by removing the sound deadener from the factory and hopefully not make it completely obnoxious.

I would keep the factory mat that is glued to the carpet. Because it helps give it shape.
If you want a lightweight product...this is a new product second skin released.

Its a trade off like everything.. your car will be more enjoyable to drive but it will weigh 30-50 lbs more. One of the reasons why luxery cars weigh more.

the stock stuff is coming out for sure, if the car is a little more noisy thats fine by me, its hard to keep any H/C LS car quiet anyways.

I wasnt planning on covering every piece of bar metal like ryan said so 25 may be a good starting point. I was mostly looking to do the trunk and floor areas, no door pannels or anything like that. Ryan can you get us this stuff individually or should a bunch of us get together and just order a lot and split it up that way? I would love to get some.

when i did this to my car i used 100 sq. ft and i weighed the rolls of material before installation and it only came out to be like 25-30 lbs for both rolls of the stuff.
