  • Today I swapped out the rear trailing arms with the ones from the 98. The bushings in the 94 arms were getting egg shaped and making noises.
I also put new shocks in the front of the car. But storms moved in before I could test drive it. I did manage to give it a bath before the rain moved in.

Yeah, I know they were new. The bushings @ the bottom were destroyed, that was the squeak/groaning noise I was talking about. One side was metal on metal. It Sucks because there isnt any way to replace the bushings, believe me I tried too.

          • Pcm will be going back to Frost in the a.m. ...... So should I pull the dash for the swap. Or pull the intake and fix the knock sensors?...... decisions, decisions.....

Car ran great all day. It did spend a bit of time parked here and there but it ran fabulously when I drove it. It is going to suck to pull it this winter for rebuilding and....ahem....other stuff.... but it is necessary. I think Ill do the dash swap next. Maybe even this week if I can find some motivation....

                  • Center console is out , getting ready to drop the steering column tonight. I think I may have the old dash out tonight. Maybee even have the new one hung.
I may have to do some work on the headliner, the fabric is coming loose in the corners of the T tops. And I have the new seat belts to install. So I might pull the headliner and recover it. There is this fuax suade material that I want to use, I already had the sunvisors done in it. I think I am ready to give it another try.

                      • Old dash out, new dash is in and hung. Duct work is in. Glove box is in. Some of the wiring is back in place I ll work on the drivers side tomorrow and likely get pretty close to finished. I am going to swap out the seat belts since I have much of the interior trim out. I will also fix the headliner since that will be out too, for the seat belts.
Once I am done with this round of interior upgrades I am going to start on the knock sensors and just get em done. Once again I am running out of summer....

                        • 90% of the dash is in. Center console is almost complete. I had an issue with the cluster. I broke the lens.
It was in bad shape, dirty, scratched etc. So I wet sanded it, and started to wheel it out, then zing! Smash! Shot that sucker across the garage,
against the wall, smashed into 1000 pieces. Took
me 4 hours to find another one. And then I got to wet sand, and rub that one out.
What a pain in the ass.

                            • Its all back together now. I bagged the seat belt idea. I still need to work on the exhaust, it hits the x member during wot. I need to work on replacing the knock sensors also but, the pcm comes tomorrow so I am going to wait. I wanna run it a bit and then have it scanned again to make sure all the codes are cleared ....except the knock sensor of course. Ill probably do the knock sensor during the week.
