  • Haha thanks Nick!

You missed a couple things tho, one in particular being the cruise control. Honestly, not sure if I want to hide the wires just yet - they don't bother me. I just want the car to look factory, not necessarily super custom. There are a lot of brackets I've been taking inventory of that I plan to remove and either powdercoat or paint black.

So you guys like the blacked out battery huh? I believe it was Joel's idea

    • Another question for you all... my battery tray is broken kinda

I took my battery out and the "lip" on the front edge was hanging on for dear life. I broke it the rest of the way off (1/4"), and now I am sure I'll have a problem with it sliding around - even with the rear clamp tightened. How hard is it to replace that tray? It has a coolant hose or something similar going down through it - haven't really investigated it much. Looks like a pain to replace. Any thoughts? And no, I'm not doing a battery location to the rear quarter

Actualy the coolant bottle is the battery tray lol...my front hook for the battery is gone (so my optima will fit) but when i put the stocker back in it didnt jump around at all...with how tight the space is the battery really shouldnt move if you have the front clip tight.

        • It is extremely easy to replace. Mine just broke in the same spot. Once the battery is out there is only one bolt that holds it down. Everything comes out. Will literally take you 30sec to do it.

BTW the car wont pass tech at the track with a battery not properly secured.

what kind of paint did you paint the battery wihth?

          • I made my own strap out of aluminum and just used one of the headlamp bolts to hold it down, battery won't budge.

Interesting... I'll have to go take a closer look!

I painted it with some Krylon primer and paint I had lying around. I'll put a finish coat on in the spring. If I were to recommended a paint, I would say get some Krylon Fusion for plastic. Definitely flat or satin finish.

yeah, what he said, I just bought a new one from GM, I don't think it was much more than 30-40 bucks? just a couple bolts hold everything down, it was a very easy replace.

                    • Wire and hood latch mod are very easy... Also, your Cruise/TCS modules tucks nicely behind the pcm.... Looking good Fred!

Crappy pic, stereo wiring is gone now too.. You can see where the cruise was, looks much better hidden.

Hey thanks Nick! I'll let you know - maybe we can work something out. I've never heard of Perry, but I have a vague idea of where Ryan lives. Maybe we can work something out and meet up. I'll let you know
