Im looking at the B&M 4L60 E Shift Improver Kit (Shift Kit). How much work is invlolved here i don't do much auto trans work(not certified yet) do i take the valve body off and put that plate in? Is it just a few bolts to get that off? Looking at the picture there is like some springs a pin and some balls. I don't want to take it apart and get screwed wene things start flying away.

its pretty easy.... the balls stay in the valvebody and so do the springs...

2-4 piston was in backwards. Took me 20 minutes to fix, didnt hurt anything. It was frustrating because the instructions were unclear and the part fit both ways. Thankfully matt found a better writeup than the one i had.

it firms and quickens up the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. I got mine from Oregon Performance on Ebay for $18 shipped no more than a month ago. They shipped really fast. The install is easy, but a little confusing. It might be harder to get the servo cap off on a camaro than my truck, i do not know. On my truck, I had an exhaust pipe right there that was convenient to put a pry bar on and pop the cap. Other than that it should be the same thing. All in all well worth the $18. I think if i had the torque management tuned out of my truck it would chirp the 1-2. I did have a trouble with mine doing it the first time, but if i had to do it again i could probably have it done no sweat in a half hour. Im here to help if you need it.

this was the writeup i used. it definitely lacks some detail, but gives you an idea of what the job involves. this writeup is also for a full size truck but its the same trans.

I was looking at that also in the Lane Auto catalog. Sounds like a good thing. Do you know how much they cost? The Lane catalog gives part #s and no prices for it.

Thats not a bad deal. What is the main difference between the BMM70365 transpak and the BMM70360 shift improver kit? Is there is a price quote on that as well? It looks a bit difficult too install, are the instructions pretty descriptive?

Transpak involves changing springs, removing balls, and changing the plate (well on a TH350). The cheaper one I believe you just change the plate.

                          B&M #70365 = $73.99
The B&M #70365 will make your auto into a "manual". You will have to shift it or will not go into the next gear. I installed one of these in a TH350, but that was back in 91. My memory not that good.

Should I list these on my "weekend sale"? I could work on those prices a little or maybe free shipping?

Well, I dont want a manual shift, so I might be interested in getting the BMM70360 shift improver kit. Are the instructions easy too understand, or would it be advisable too have someone else install it for me? If I have my shift firmness and shift points adjusted in my PCM will this affect the new points in my computer and screw something up if I install it, or no?
