Are the instructions easy too understand, or would it be advisable too have someone else install it for me? If I have my shift firmness and shift points adjusted in my PCM will this affect the new points in my computer and screw something up if I install it, or no?
Do you do all of your own mods? You should be able to do it.
Did you adjust the firmness & shift point with hypertech or something like that? I would put it back to stock on my car if I was to install this.
As far as screwing something up, I honestly cant answer that. I can lie and say you wont, but thats not me. We should all research these mods before doing them to our cars. Get feedback from people who have done these.
    Check out LS1tech for researching.

Well, I am getting my car tuned by Travis on Friday morning, so I will wait and see how it works out with it and get back too you on it. Probably better too get it programmed, but I will see how it works out. I might just go with a Corvette servo after this if I think it is going too screw anything up. Otherwise a bit of a stiff snap from the B&M might be cool too. BTW, I do tend too do all of my own mods.

you might want to double check that v8 cars dont already have corvette servos. im pretty sure they dont, but i dont know.

yea you are not going to want the shift kit on top of trans tuning, unless you want a new tranny. I will make it so that it will feel like a shift kit in the car with the tune.

Just ask my brother, really woke his car up from removing Torque Management and firming up the shift points along with making them quicker.

Cool Travis. I just want a good firm shift with quick response and too get rid of that 30-40 mph dead spot where I cannot downshift on a kickdown. Better response should improve my track time also. I would like too get a 13 flat out of it or better tomarrow night at Martin if possible.

Hopefully I can get some rims for the slicks my brother has. They are 30-10.5-15's but I am not sure if I will need a spacer plate or not with longer studs. My brother couldnt use them because he dont want too get a spacer plate and deal with it on his Mustang. His problem is the caliper getting in the way. This would already put me at a almost guaranteed 13 flat.

Without getting the shift kit, would I be able too get a Corvette Servo with the tune, or would it be best just too do the tune alone and forget the servo and the kit? I dont need too replace my tranny anytime soon, I am just looking for the best response without messing it up and too have the cheapest most effective setup possible...

When it comes to newer overdrive autos, id stay far away from B&M stuff. God I wish I wouldn't have been a cheapass when I did my shift kit (similar to the kit youre looking at) and just got the nice Trans-Go kit.

The B&M kit eliminates springs and replaces them with solid bushings. This gives you a really hard shift all the time, even when youre not on it at all, it bangs the gears REAL hard. Just eats the trans up. Have had nothing but problems with my 700R since that kit went in.

The transgo will give you the hard WOT shifts and soft part throttle shifts because it maintains the accumulator springs. Plus it comes with a billet servo.

                  my $.02

Thanks for the advice Matt. I think I will do the tune and see how it performs for me. I do like a hard firm shift though! LOL! I will hold off on other parts till I see what becomes of it with the tune. I want too add a 3200-3800 stall and a set of 3.42 or 3.73 gears eventually anyhow, so I think I will hold off on the kits for now.

as i am transmission stupid, just a couple questions..

with the motor install, i am also going to put in a shift kit and torque converter.

i really like the idea of Manu-matic, and was not aware of it for the 4l60E untill now..

would the manu-matic setup also require a shift kit, or is it already a package deal? also, would it require a ratchet shifter? and would it have a auto position for normal driving or is it manual all the time?

                      Thanks a bunch!

The manu matic is an all new valve body that goes in the transmission. It doesnt require a ratchet shifter but a ratchet would be a lot easier to use. A full manual valve body does NOT have an automatic position. Whatever gear youre in, thats what its in.
