I'm fixing this for way less than $150. Just gotta find the time to get over to his house and get it.

Money wouldn't be as big of an issue right now if it wasn't for the fact my wife convinced me that the best birthday gift for my son would be season passes for all three of us to Disneyland this year. That happened a little over a week and a half ago. I don't have to tell you how much of a dent in our savings that made. Sighs...

That's what I put in my 10 bolt Darren is right, less work, less money if you can find a whole rear. Up to you though. When I built my rear, I had to buy the tools and the parts, so it cost more around a grand ... So in hind sight, there were certainly better options, but if you can swing it for less than $100, I say go for it lol

Don't forget, I have stuff that will only cost you shipping if you want it lol

The rear end is probably untouched. Those Auburns are terrible. It likely just spit the springs out.

Craigslist is your best friend here. Look in the for sale and even make a wanted ad. People literally cant give those rear ends away... I wouldn't pay more than $100 for one.

I got the gov lock diff from my friend and i must say its a very interesting piece of engineering. I can see how it could go wrong though. No worries, itll do fine. I would have it back together and driving by now but i noticed my rear brakes are shot and the wheel cylinders are leaking. So im going to replace them and the brakes shoes while im at it. But im tired and sore and im calling it a day. Ill finish it up tomorrow.

BTW - I have a new enemy. The little metal clip on the back of the wheel cylinder. I hate that little f**ker! HATE IT!

Man...never dealt with one on an F-Body, but I hated that clip on the '68 Austin Healey I used to have too. I cannot express how much I hate drum brakes at all. Discs FTW!

Wheel cylinders are in. Drums ressembled with new shoes and hardware. Just gotta get a second set of hands to help me bleed them out and I should be done with this ordeal.

Want to start a pool on what goes wrong with this car next? Electrical? Tranny? Engine? Air Ride failure? Another engine bay fire? *sighs*

Luckily this doesn't look too complicated to fix. I don't think I need to start a new thread on this repair, right?

BTW, for giggles, I went to Moser and hypothetically priced out my dream rear end. Price tag came to be about $4200..... is it wierd that I think that's reasonable after all that I've been threw? LOL

For what it's worth, you can get into an entry level 9" with around $2k with a Ford OEM style posi. Ya know, if you really wanted to...
