Ridings built my trans and converter for free when I did my LT1 build, I gave him sponsorship on the site in return. I know a lot of people, many of them high HP builds, who used to swear by Ridings and would even have him do overnight builds. The fact that he was always so busy building converters seemed to speak for the quality of his builds, no?

I have no experience in the matter but there are lots of people out there that would love to strangle the guy (just from reading threads on here and MM)

Mike's shop is gone, tools are gone, business is gone, and he's pretty much in hiding.

The mere mention of his name on MM will pretty much incite a riot.

That said, I had good dealings with him and know others who have as well. But, I know/have heard of WAY more people who have gotten very thoroughly screwed by him and even if he was still doing work I'd never give him a dollar of my money anymore.

I dont know much about him or his work besides what I read but generally people are pretty negative. Could be a little over reacting but at what point do you go with the If it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck....

truth.. i have heard way to many stories recently where mike actually took these guys trans's and sold them to someone else and kept the money. let alone building sub par products that failed not long after being used. go do a search on motown brian and u will find a lot on there

I didnt get the car in the barn and on the lift tonight, got wrapped up in a million other issues, just now getting home.

Still rather distraught about the whole issue. When it rains it pours apparently.

DD really needs new tires, so im even more than hosed now. Maybe ill get a chance to pull it apart tomorrow night. Till then, ill just sit here and be grumpy about it.

So you've burned up (2) 3-4 clutch packs? I would have the apply components checked out good and make sure everything is cleaned good to make sure this isn't happening due to a restriction in fluid flow.

                            No, Ive burned up 3.....

When I took it elsewhere last summer to have it rebuilt that was exactly that shops concern. So I sort of doubt thats an issue with this most recent one. However they did say that they were NOT impressed with "that cluster**** of a trans that was in there", the phrases "mis-matched parts" and "rigged" came up a LOT in conversation discussing the unit they pulled out.

My dad has been friends with this guy and his company for years, he was going to visit him and discuss it over lunch today, hopefully something good comes of it.

On thing I learned a long time ago: go to the people that specialize in the transmission your using.

If you've had it built 3 times, you've spent more money than you would have on a RPM level 4.

I see that now, from the sounds of it at this point, the trans shop that did this last one may be willing to work with me. We shall see.
