Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

i feel as if im cheating my engine with my A4 i know its got more power than its getting to the wheels, i know i could get a small shift kit and retune my trans to help shift harder, but ive convinced myself i want somesort of manual control, an M6 conversion is around $5,000 (right?). and a trans go full manual kit is obviously much less, anyone with experience here please chime in http://transgoonline.com/products.ph...dcountview=Yes
Going with full manual valve body isn't going to put more power to the ground. It allows you to hold a gear, upshift or downshift when you want. Stock 4l60's pumps don't like high rpm.
T56 swap can be done for less than two grand, depending on what clutch you put in.
If you want to spend that kind of money, get a beast shell, new steels and clutches, solenoid kit, planetary gears, and a wider 2/4 band and build a nice 4l60e the right way.
Maybe I don't understand but why don't you just drive it manually then with the shifter? I don't downshift into 1st, but I do downshift and upshift from 2 through 4 when I drive Red Alert.
That said - if you're drag racing it's 100% silly to do anything other than put it in regular drive and mash the gas.

well that sounds nice, but how much in labor are we talking?

Yeah I've got a nice converter in it, makes the auto a lot more fun to drive. With Steve's tune it shifts from 1st to 2nd real nice and sharp, 3rd and 4th shifts aren't as hard but still good. I'm not sure if it's just my tune or if it's the way all our FBodies are, but I basically control all the upshifts with the shifter.
