FRAM used to be really good. (15 years ago or more). Now they are about the shittiest thing you can buy. I ran a fram on my camaro for just one oil change and i noticed a loss in oil pressure.

I refuse to use anything but WIX filters on both my car and truck. they are the best you can buy, and they only cost $7 a piece. why use anything else? The wix I run in the z28 is an oversized application too which allows for more oil in the system. Only hangs down a little lower too.

Theyre the official oil filter of NASCAR and have been for years... however they arent very popular for who knows why.

I buy mine at my local NAPA

Hmm....maybe I'll try one next oil change. Mostly since theres a NAPA closer to me then the place I gotta go to get the Amsoil ones. Alot of people carry amsoil....oil, but their filters seem to be a bit scarce I dunno why

Just put Amsoil fully synthetic in my ATV. Costs more to change the oil in that then it does my car.

on bobistheoilguy.com they found no real diference in the filters (at least last time I read the thing) if you cut apart any commercial filter you will find a paper element, if the element came apart and got into your engine something was wrong, or your running a high pressure pump in which case you should run a racing filter (wix only does a racing type) having cut open every brand I can tell you I wouldn't run a purolator on my lawnmower they just don't have the surface area (even though that website says they filter the same) I run the ac delco sometimes (I al;ways check the canister itself since gm sold the a/c company and the manufactuer of those parts may be multiple manufacturers) if you get your oil changed at a quick oil change place you are using a fram filter (those quaker state and penzoil ones are just painted frams)

Yeah but the nice thing about Amsoil is they manage not to use any polymers in most of their multi-viscosity oils (ie: 10w30) so theres nothing in the oil to create hot spots, oil lubricates, polymers dont. So yeah it costs more but its definatly worth it. ITs the best synthetic oil you can buy IMHO

Before we would usually just go to a Polarisis dealer and get there oil and filter. But the dealer is out of the way, so we checked at the local parts store and they sold Amsoil. I believe its 0W40.

I have always heard positive things about WIX/ Napa oil filters. Previously I would only use A/C oil filters.
