  • I'd say between $75 and $100. One hour to pull and drop it off, two to three hours to pick it up and have it back in. $25/hr is damn god money Take the family out for a nice dinner....or buy more parts.

I'm glad they are owning up to this ugly mistake!

Last time I transported a rear end, it was with the Camaro I didn't have any interior in it, I just dropped the top and set it in the passenger side

        • Larry, this is an absolutely insane thread. Sorry to see all the trouble you've gone through. Now that the shop is owning up to the mistake, I'm hoping your luck turns around.

If you want an extra piece of mind with regarding to sealing the axle tubes, get a set of these as well (scroll down to ROCK ASSAULT™ 9" SEAL HOUSING KIT):

          http://www.trail-gear.com/rock-assault-axle-housing

Inner axle seals are normally used for off-road use, but they supposedly hold up just fine in a daily driver. Since the lathe marks on an axle are parallel to the rotation of the axle, there shouldn't be any wear problems on the seals either. Just something to keep in mind.

People were probably like man that girl in the passenger seat is ugly. If I was him I would have that top up and windows tinted!

            • No passenger seat, so it actually fit surprisingly well...and I drove with the cover of the night

Somebody get this man a truck to use! All our haulers are filled up right now, and my truck doesn't have a front end left

                    • An SUV works just fine. I've had an 8.8 in the back of my Cherokee with the back seat down before.

                          • Good to hear! So, can they make the axle back to stock dimensions and be able to use the new axle?
