  • Man that sucks, just caught up on last 5 pages. It just seems most people don't have the time to do it right. But they do have the time to take your money..

        • I see exactly what they did. That tube can be saved - provided that you get the same end as the drivers side.

The Strange end doesn't have the depth to it like the Moser end. They cut part of the Moser and did a horrible job of welding that Strange end to the partial Moser end.

              • Ok, I went out to the shop this morning.. Somehow I managed to stay calm(which I am sure helped). I spoke with the owner and showed him the pictures I took.. He admitted that they had made a mistake and would fix it.. He is ordering a Moser end housing today and replacing free of charge. He is, also, going to pay me for removal and re-installation of my rear end. He apologized and thanked me for the opportunity to make it right.. he said he had been in business to long not to take care of me.. I didn't ask, but I am sure he did not do the work personally and someone is getting an ass chewing today. I asked about the weld, he said that is actually a weld on top of the original weld(got me). Anyways, I was assured the end housing would be tig welded this time, they used a different method on the last one(don't remember what he said). So, hopefully have the rear out in the next few days and out there for repair. What is a fair price for my time and labor, removal and installation? I was just going to tell him whatever they would charge is my fee..

                • sounds like they are willing to own up to it and try to make it right. Just sucks because it means more down time for you. But sounds like the shop might not be so bad business wise. I hope they get someone who works better then the first guy who worked on it.

                      • Cant see how you can actually charge them, regardless of his gesture....sounds like a stand-up guy with good intentions. What I mean is your interpretation of an "acceptable" shop rate and his will more than likely vary causing more headache. What are they going to do, cut you a check after they redo the work they agreed fix? Lol, doubt it...

To be honest I wouldnt take it much further than lessons learned, have them fix it and move on.

I know I can't charge shop rates. After all the BS i feel entitled. Lol But I am going to accept a discount on what I've paid already. And yes, I could tell he felt very bad about what had happened. So, we'll see how it turns out.
