Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

When I put my UMI Torque arm (Trany Mount) in and my 9" I had to use a BFH to make a little bit of room in the tunnel.
Other than that, game on!!

When I get a rear built for my car, this is who I have decided to go with....this guy is top notch and stands behind what he does.....plus his prices are very good.
I just got an email back from Eric at midwest. They do offer a 4 channel rear.. Now I have to research the TA question.. I've heard they drag on a lowered car.. Eric said if the car is lowered more than 1 1/4 inch yu may have some problems, mine isn't.. He said the Moser 9" has issues on a stock ride height car. Just paid off my cage and paint, time to save for a midwest..

FWIW...my car is lowered and I do not have any issues with my moser 9" hitting. I did however need to trim my BMR torque arm to make it fit.
One other thing to consider is the effieciency of the rear end. My 9" cost me 1mph in the quarter but it was worth it in my opinion. If I had an A4 I'm not sure I would feel the same. I believe that 12 bolts are more efficient but you will sacrifice strength.

What kind of issues on stock ride height? I'm really don't want to dish out 2k-3k and run into more issues than what I started with .
I think he was talking about the M9. the TA bracket is on top of the diff(like the midwest) and will hit. the normal moser with a TA that has two sets of mount holes normally doesn't hit
I've been working with D&R driveline in grandville. Looks like I can pick up a moser rear with 3 channel abs and a tru trac posi unit for under $2,200. This is with a used iron center section and my choice of gears. I'm still debating on a nodular , or aluminum center section.
I'm going to look at that Midwest unit now too. By the time you add lower control arm brackets, a drain plug, torque arm I'm sure I'll spend $2,700 anyway.
I just want to spend the money locally if I can.
D and R Driveline was going to do my gear swap on my old v6 rear end, then a worker of my dads said he could do it instead. Goods guys over there I hear.

I just want a place that is local so I can knock on his door if I run into any issues. I don't want to order something from someone 500 + miles away, and find out I have a bad gear set up.
The guy I talked to at D&R driveline seemed to know his stuff. HOWEVER...... I hate being treated like I can't afford the darn thing. I also don't like his recomendations. He said a Tru trac would blow at the track. He also said the stock torque arm and driveshaft wont work. These are all things I don't like hearing, because that means hes not familuar with our cars. Not to say he won't do a good job setting up the rear end. All he has to do is build the center section and press in bearings. I'll keep everyone updated if I have hime build me one.

That's something I have been thinking about as well.. As much as I like the midwest unit, if I have problems I can't just run to their shop for help.. Here's a link I was sent, I will probably check with these guys when the time comes..
I've had a rear built by DTS before and the work was top notch. Considering their shop is based out of Ionia, it's not too far of a drive if you have any issues. They're definitely going to be where I go to get my S60 this spring.
Honestly I'm probably gonna go through Scott at Driveline Solutions because hes very local and I've only heard amazing things about his work. You should give him a shout Larry.
