  • clutch pedal stuck up!

went to the track and went to depress the clutch to get it out of 3rd and the clutch pedal was solid as a rock! got it by the time slip booth and a buddy came by and pushed it down breaking my slave cylinder off. i replaced the slave, and now its still solid as a rock! btw i drove it home from the track with no clutch! so i know the clutch is still ok/engaged. any thoughts of what it could be?

wow that sucks! how did you manage driving home with no clutch??? I can shift without using the clutch, but you still have to press it to come to a stop. im trying to think what could cause that.

you shut the car off put it in gear then roll it over while in gear. its kinda tricky but it worked

Did you replace the master cylinder too, or just the slave cylinder?

You replaced the slave and not the master? I'd look there....then plan on replacing your shift forks/pads after driving it with no clutch

Sounds like a mechanical blockage in the pedal arm itself

He won't hurt the forks too bad. The worst damage will be when the syncho rings get all stretched out from having to synchonize the gears under the weight of the whole car. Once the synchos are ruined, he'll be double-clutching every gear change to keep from grinding the gears. Don't know what double-clutching is? Ask gramps or and old time truck driver.

double clutching is pushing in the clutch shifting to nuetral release the clutch push clutch back in and then shift into desired gear . i looked it up after the fast and furious when don (vin desiel) said "not double clutching like u shoud"

trans is new, so no concerns there, but we took the slave back off and the clutch fork is stuck in, and wont come back, so we have to take the trans back out

I have seen the rivet holes wear or the material just plain break.
If the fork isn't screwed up I am willing to bet the material failed.
also have seen certain material clutch shred and look like a ball of fuzz.

ok, so basically a friction "puck" couldve come undone and flown out... makes sense.
