Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
If there's areas I don't want done can they be covered and won't affect the finish. I want my do my TT2 wheels in black or CF but leave the lip chrome.
Our big tank will be here in a couple weeks but we should be able to do some smaller items (up to about a 17-18" wheel) in size before then no problem!
Valve covers no problem, and absolutely on the wheels. Check the wheel above I posted as we did very similar by not dipping the lip and leaving them as they were in the silver finish!
Now that you put it into words like that Jonny, I think thats what I meant when I compared the two is that it will become very popular, and totally agree with people not being able to do it in their backyard garage. Painting/auto body is what I went to school. I just wish I would have listened and took more in depth about the free hand pin stripping and air brush stuff. Those things, I wish I would have learned more in my younger days at school.
I may come to look at having some interior things done Jonny. Thanks for letting us know locally your doing these kinds of things.
'91 Camaro Modded, LSx, House of Kolor Intense White, lowered, GS chrome 18" wheels, 14" Brembo CTS-V on all 4 corners, LS rear end, FP suspension components

If the wheels are polished this would not be a problem, however there is an adhesion issue with chrome plating and the paint will not stick to it.
Is hydro-dipping removable without damaging the previous finish? What kind of temps can it withstand? Does UV fade it?
The original surface has to be prepped just as any other paint job, it is essentially a base/clear paint job with a graphics layer added in the middle. Has the same UV protection as the finish on your car, and is good for temps in the 400-500* range. As far as removing it you would have to sand it down, media blast, or use a paint stripper.
