Anyone have experience with DIPYOURCAR plasti dip kit?

I've seen people plastidip their whole car before -- both a 5th gen and a 4th gen -- but I'm not familiar with their process or real close pictures of how it turned out. Overall I love the idea of being able to "change the color of your car" for $300 plus some elbow grease.

Yea, in all honesty it wasn't bad IMO, I have my grille dipped..and my ZR1 wheels I use for the track in black plasti dip. If I can scoop up these chrome ZR1's I have my eye on (2)17x9.6, (2)17x11, going to be plasti dipping them in either their charcoal gray, or light gunmetal gray so I can decide if I like the look enough to have Darren/Jon powder coat for me... Hell even my sons stripes on his Camaro are plasti dipped , along with the garage door knob still. (I went crazy with it last year)

Ill be dipping my wheels in either dark grey or light grey. But doing a gloss coat over my chrome 18s to see if I like it.
Also tossed around the idea of adding a flat black set of stripes on my car. But it's only a single stage black. And I don't want to ruin my paint under it if I remove it and ill be doing my CETA panel in both dark grey and flat black to see what I like.
So basically everything but the garage door knob

I wish they made it in gloss finishes. The only issue I ever have with plasti dip is that when you mask something and try to pull the tape off it tears the plasti dip badly, and even if you try to cut with an exact o knife to break the bond of the pasti dip to the tape the plasti dip still shriveled up or shrinks around the edges. The only successful way I've ever been able to use it is to bomb whatever I was painting and immediately peel the masking tape off before the dip started to dry.

They actually do have a gloss finish now. IIRC, you spray the normal matte finish then you coat it with the gloss solution. Looks pretty slick too, but does cost a little more. To the OP, I've never done it personally, but I looked into it a lot about 6 months ago and seen many cars done, and it looked really smooth when finished. Shit peels right off the headlights, tails, and glass like nothing. I'm just curious how those edges would hold up to a good power washing. Would they start to peel? rip? idk. But it does look good when done right.

There was a thread on Camaro5 but for the life of me I can't find it anymore... Anyway the guy plastidipped his car in matte blue. He owns a company that did it professionally -- removed the taillights and trim work before they sprayed it on. He said that they power wash it with a soap solution and then blow dry it without touching the surface when they want to clean it.

Busting your balls , but why dislike plasti dip so much?

Yeh - why the hatred for Plastidip? I mean - I don't agree with doing a whole car ... or really most any accents, but I can mildly understand plastidipping the wheels if someone wants to go with the dirty black rim look. Hell I guess if they had more gloss then I'd really have no problem with it from a car standpoint either - the concept of being able to paint your car one color and peal it off a few weeks later is cool. Really the only thing I disagree with it is the matte looks.

I like it as a way to test out an idea since it's quickly reversible. Not a fan as a permanent solution though.
