^^^ this.Originally posted by birdie2000 View PostI like it as an idea to test out an idea since it's quickly reversible. Not a fan as a permanent solution though.
What I hate is how it's turned into a permanent and cheap, half assed, shortcut appearance solution. I'm ok with the fact the reversibility in "testing" how something could look, WHEN YOU FINALLY DO IT RIGHT!sigpic

My GOD! Why would anyone do that to a new camaro? It already has beautiful paint. If that would have been a ZL1, I would have probably lost what little hope I still have left in humanity. Imho, I feel this should stay with the import scene, or as someone mentioned above, a means to test a color for a future "paint" job. Civics, Subarus, Evo's.. fine. But not Corvettes, camaros and mustangs... just like clear tails and huge wings, each product has its place. My $.02.Pacesetter LT's, Pacesetter ORY, full MSD ign., 2 step, rear LCA's, SFC's, B&M Ripper, poly motor mounts, Nitto NT05R's, WS6 wheels, KYB AGX adj. suspension, Eibach Sprotline springs, Trickflow elbow w/K&N, All HVAC deleted w/ delete panel, no AIR, No EGR

There's a fully plastidipped ZL1 floating around on Camaro5.com too... but they did matte black and I just can't stand that. While I don't really LIKE the job I posted above, I can tolerate it since it's matte blue and doesn't look like raw primer.
PS - You practically HAVE to plastidip the 5th gens.... our paint sucks. GM says it's because EPA caused it to be water based, Camaro5 says GM cheaped out and only did one layer of color and one layer of clear so a simple rock chip goes all the way to the bare metal. I can't count the number of chips I have in my paint... if the wind blows too hard outside I'd probably find another chip..- Brian Meissen
