strippin ghte car yourself is best if you know how it goes back together. but itll save you alot of money in disassembly hours. paint can be cheap but if your taking it to a shop then theres no way it will be.

More than likely I will have the shop strip it because I have never done any work like this

I figured it woudn't be cheap, but if I have to pay close to 5,000 just for prep work without paint, then this project may be on hold for a while because while I have the money just have too many plans to invest money to make more, then I can splurge on my car lol! Me & my wife just had our first baby two months ago and we are trying to get are stuff in order.

Just trying to get an idea of the scope of work... but you want the whole car stripped, floor pans fixed, then paint the whole car?

I want the car stripped, floors pans fixed, but not looking for paint at the moment just want to get it primered until I get the money for a good paint job. My concern is that I have had the car for close to three years and I noticed the rust last summer. I want to be quick about fixing all the rust on the car before it gets to bad to be repaired, then the car will be no good. Basically I just want to make sure the car is rust free and solid before I start tackling the rebuild of the engine and add more power.

i would say get all the rust taken care of first, i personally wouldnt leave a car in primer for an extended period of time. once your sure you have all you need for paint then get that taken car of.

I can shoot primer for you, I also have access to a car trailer, and 2 repo trucks with wheel lifts not the sling type. If I wasnt currently replacing floor pans in my buddys lemans, I'd say lets go for it. Is this something you want to be back together and driving by spring summer time ?

well send me a pm with your number and we'll chat and I'll help you out as much as I can. We are running my buddy's lemans to the media blasting place tomorrow Ill let you what the final price is to give you an idea, he is using glass beads, which runs cooler then sand and a bit cheaper too
