I'm in -- I'll make it work. Do you have a detailed time schedule, when we have to be where for how long, etc.?

Just to help Ben field questions until he's on - you'll need to be there the whole time that judging takes place from 9am to 12/noon and 1pm to 4pm on Saturday (you get a 1 hr lunch) and then you need to be there from 9am to 12/noon Sunday. Usually they ask that you get there early (1-2 hours?) on Saturday so they can go through the whole judging process with you. I'll let Ben or Barry clarify that though.

Vinnie - yes, you're doing kinda like concours. You'll get a sheet that you give a numeric grade value for each category and there's descriptions to determine which numeric value means what. So yes it's kinda your judgment for cleanliness but other aspects ("Does it have correct tires for the stock class?" is stone solid).

Here are some instructions for MIS...
you MUST have a copy of your drivers license and proof of insurance to drive on the track!!!
pack a lunch/snacks/refreshments!! We will be there ALL day, from approx 11am-4pm. There is nothing at the track open, except bathrooms. NO glass containers, NO alcohol!!
make sure your gas tank is FULL - stop along the way if you have to!!

We are leaving enmasse from the HQ hotel at 10am. You should arrive by 9am to get checked in at registration in the lobby.
You are welcome to bring friends with you, as long as everyone is IN your car, no extra cars or spectators on this activity.
We are doing PARADE LAPS... 60 mph max speed at all time. (we'll cover more of this with a drivers meeting on Pit Row)

Per Brian's response above... YES, the judging is a concours style, based on cleaniness and detailing! Spending more on modifications than another car owner does not mean it's a winner - it depends on how the mods are done, how clean is everything, detailing (wires a mess or neatly organized). The judging sheets are set-up in catagories... body, paint, engine... then those are broken down further and there is a max point value for each item. You award points based on what you feel is a perfect car and subtract from there. Two judges look at the same classes all weekend, making this consistant and fair. You DO NOT have to add the sheets - we have EMCC members for that!! You also only have to judge! We will classify the cars in their proper classes, taking into account if the tires are correct for that year, what modifications are or are not allowed, etc... We'll go over all of that when you arrive Saturday morning!

Thats Correct Vin. Friday is optional although I highly recommend it. Saturday and Sunday are the required days.

I know how you feel. I requested Friday off like 6 months ago and was so psyched about the opportunity to cruise with the EMCC at MIS. Alas my car is down for near future awaiting insurance intervention. So do not feel too bad. Maybe next year we may have another opportunity if all goes well next weekend.

If a car is listed as stock, that means that someone has already looked at it for authenticity and decided that it is period-correct (within the rules of the category.) If it's modified, then you just decide if the mod is tasteful and well executed - you don't have to decide which mods are better than others lol.

It's a fun two days - you get to crawl all over some of the most beautiful Camaros in existence!

Your friend is welcome to tag along with you to the show and MIS and, if Barry is willing, he can take either my or Jen's opportunity to go around the track since neither of us will have an F-body to take around ourselves.
