Hey I got a q for ya. I just got scammed outta 300 for a set of tail lights. What would I have to do legaly to get either my tail lights or my money. What steps should I take. And if al else fails Ill hire mafia to get both back for me. lol

1. By answering any generic questions I am in no way establishing an attorney-client representation. These helpful hints are not intended as legal advice. Feel free to send me an email, any confidentiality is waived by posting in a public forum.

2. I would obviously need more information before I could respond but the best thing to do when scammed through a fraudulent transaction is to contact the authorities. Most police departments, like the MSP, have fraud departments that deal with scams and such. Scams and frauds are crimes. The hardest thing about scams is that they are usually across State lines and hence local authorities can't do much. However any scam involving the U.S. mail can become a Federal Issue. Bear in mind that authorities may not spend much time or resources going after $300. If the authorities find the person and prosecute them they you would be entitled to restitution as part of the persons sentence. Other options would be to sue the person if you know who they are but for $300 they would have to be in Michigan and it would be a small claims case. Attorneys aren't allowed in small claims cases under $3000.

3. If you paid through a credit card, some checks, or some other means you may be able to contact your credit card company or bank to see if they will refund the loss or investigate it.

4. How much do you plan on paying the mafia to go after your $300 loss? "Crime is never the answer." Write that down.

lemme tell you if they got tickets, no one won. talk about paying out the ass. i think you can only get worse with a drunk driving. i paid close to $3,000 for 2 wreckless tickets. thats lawyers, court fines, ticket fines.

I don't think it matters if I won. None the less, we got pulled over for racing. I got a ticket, so did the other car. We hardly even raced, didn't break over 70mph; didn't squeal the tires, and we were heading to Woodward for the Dream Cruise, and we were having a little fun.

I know the feeling I almost got popped on WW for it, the other car was the only one pulled over and he put lengths on me. Just trying to lighten the mood.
