Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
you need a sonnax valve body upgrade if you are getting the p1870 code. Usually runs about $300 at most trans shops installed. Very common issue with these 4l60e trans. My brothers v6 bird had that same code. On long runs it would shift real hard at times
I would do it myself...
How much does the part run.
what causes it?
I read somewhere my converter dosnt lock up in OD

All you will need is a 4l60-e jr orange box recal kit $45.00
accum pistons 1-2, 3-4, and fwd in aluminum $25.00
filter and pan gasket $10.00
you might need a spacer plate if it's beat up bad $15.00

and a few hours of patients to install.
Would that be better then the Sure Cure kit Sonnax offers?
What causes that code anyhow?

There are 2 lock up valves in the trans. The converter feed valve in the valve body and the converter lock up valve in the pump. The feed valve feeds fluid to the lock up valve in the pump. With PWM (pulse width modulation),it wears out the feed valve bore in the valve body which causes the converter not to lock up and bring the engine rpm down enough when it starts to apply lock up.
Most shift kits will give you a valve or a combination of springs to change the PWM lock up strategy to on/off strategy.
Whoever doesn't have one of these needs to get one already. It's the best bang for the buck and it really woke up my car beyond belief. Plus Mike's a pretty nice guy so get it from him!
So which converter and what stall speed would you recommend for a 02 Jeep Wrangler with an LS1 and 4L60E? I told one of my friends about your converters and he is interested.
Stock LS1 out of an 04 GTO. Currently has D44's with 5.13's but soon to go to D60's and 4.56's tho. He has like 4 sets of wheels and tires ranging from 35 All terrains to 36 Irok bias and 38 1/2 Gumbo mudders.

If it's going to get driven like a daily driver and hit the mud, I'd run the 11''. Stall speed would probably hit the 2400-2600 range. Perfect for a daily driven mudder!!! ( danzig>> MUDDER!!!)

Mike.
Yeah it needs to be street driven quite a bit because his Nissan 240SX that he decided to turbocharge never runs right haha.
I'll let him know and I'll send him your way for sure.
